Art therapy is a recognized and evidence-based therapeutic approach that uses creative expression as a pathway to healing. You don’t need to be “artistic” for it to be effective—art therapy focuses on the process, not the product. Through drawing, painting, sculpting, or other creative mediums, clients can explore emotions, reduce stress, increase self-awareness, and communicate experiences that may be difficult to put into words.
Art therapy is practiced by trained professionals and is supported by research as a valid and meaningful form of psychotherapy. It can be especially helpful for children, youth, and adults who benefit from hands-on, experiential approaches to healing.

ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS!

Ever feel like your thoughts are a bit of a jumbled mess, and you’re trying to sort through it all? That’s often where I connect with people. While I’m on the verge of completing my Master’s in Counselling from Gonzaga, I’ve already spent valuable time supporting individuals across different age groups. I have a particular passion for working with youth and neurodivergent individuals, understanding the unique challenges and strengths they bring, as I navigate my own neurodivergence. Whether its helping young people navigate their world, supporting neurodivergent individuals in thriving, or assisting adults through the complexities of life’s journey, I bring a practical and down-to-earth approach to understanding what makes us tick. I also enjoy working with couples, helping them build stronger connections and navigate relationship dynamics.

My philosophy in counselling is simple: your experience is unique, and our work together should reflect that. I’m passionate about creating a space where you feel truly seen and heard, empowering you to take the lead in your own growth. My approach draws from various therapeutic frameworks to best support your needs. I often incorporate Reality Therapy, a framework focused on making actionable change, to help clients identify their goals and take steps towards achieving them. Additionally, I utilize Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to explore the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and integrate elements of Existential Therapy to delve into deeper questions of meaning, purpose, and freedom. Think of me as your supportive guide, ready with a range of techniques and a genuine sense of curiosity about your world. Ultimately, I believe in your capacity for positive change, and I’m here to collaborate with you every step of the way.

“We speak with more than our mouths. We listen with more than our ears.” - Fred Rogers. My goal as a clinical counsellor is to make you feel seen and heard, and then to work with you to foster the changes that you need to experience through building an alliance together. All people go through hard times and need support to make positive life changes. My background in health and fitness has led me to emphasize the importance of the mind/body connection in my practice, and I use somatic therapies with acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to empower clients to work through their “stuff” to get themselves unstuck and moving forward. I am highly motivated to help clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues/family dynamics, those with ADHD, those who want to work through past traumas/addictions and anyone who wants to gain more clarity of themselves for a new path. I believe we are all on a journey of discovering and deeply knowing ourselves and can become our own best caregiver once we acknowledge, accept and give love to our true selves. Ultimately, choosing a therapist is deeply personal and I know that the relationship that we create as client/helper will be incredibly important for your healing and growth. I would be honoured to become a support for you for living your best life. In my personal life, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, walking my dog, connection time with my husband and son, and daily mindfulness and movement.

Originally from Toronto, I moved to Kelowna three years ago to complete my MSW and quickly fell in love with everything this community has to offer. I am a Registered Social Worker with the BC College of Social Workers, and over the past several years I have worked on a trauma service unit in an acute care setting. In this role, I have supported individuals of all ages as they navigated a wide range of challenges, including physical injury, medical diagnoses, financial stress, grief and loss, relationship changes, addiction and mental health concerns, and major life transitions such as changes in mobility or adjusting to a terminal illness. In addition to my hospital-based work, I have experience in counselling, mental health, and addiction support. I work with adults, young adults, seniors, couples, and youth. My practice is grounded in a client-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach. I strive to foster autonomy and self-determination, meeting clients exactly where they are at, and walking alongside them on their healing journey. Together, we work through life’s most difficult moments with the goal of expanding coping skills, building confidence, and moving toward a more fulfilling and empowered life. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities tailored to each client’s unique needs, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy, and more. I take a holistic perspective, recognizing the deep interconnection between mind, body, and spirit. I often incorporate mindfulness practices and nature -based activities, where appropriate, to support overall well-being. Outside of my professional work, I’m an outdoors enthusiast with a passion for nature, travel, and adventure. I recharge by reading a good book with a cup of coffee, attending pilates or hot yoga, and spending time hiking or camping in the summer. Each year I challenge myself with at least one backpacking trip, and in the winter you can find me skiing or snowshoeing. While I deeply value solitude, I also cherish time spent with friends and family.

My role is to create a welcoming space where you feel safe, valued, and free to express your authentic self. Through honesty and transparency, I want to empower you to share your unique story in a judgment-free environment—one that encourages exploration, reflection, and growth. Let’s navigate this work together and create meaningful change in a space where you feel accepted and supported.

Using mindfulness strategies, I take a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach, placing you at the center of the process as the expert of your own journey. I support individuals, couples, children/youth.

My passion for social work and counselling began with advocating for those whose voices were marginalized. My journey began in Kelowna, working with individuals with physical disabilities and advocating for equal access and opportunities. In Vancouver, I supported young adults with autism, reinforcing my commitment to inclusive, person-centered care. As I transitioned into healthcare, I worked in long-term care, community services, and later mental health and substance use. In the fast-paced healthcare environment, I strive to bridge the gap by offering meaningful support and connection. Each experience has deepened my desire to pursue a Master of Social Work and to dedicate more time to those I serve.

On a personal level, I am a mother, wife, yoga instructor, and gym enthusiast.

Currently accepting clients! Navigating the complexities of life can often make the world seem unforgiving and overwhelming. In the face of unexpected challenges, it’s natural to question our purpose and wonder where we’ll find the strength to move forward. My intention is to hold space and embrace the feelings of uncertainty together. Collaboratively, we can unravel the past, navigate the nuances of the present, and chart a course toward a purposeful future.

My journey into counselling was sparked by witnessing friends, as early as age 12, grapple with mental health challenges during formative years. Curious about the profound connection between the mind and our well-being, I pursued an undergraduate degree in Behavioural Neuroscience. Through my own struggles, I further discovered the transformative power of counselling — the ability to uplift through active listening and unwavering support. Building on this foundation, I earned my Masters in Counselling Psychology with a concentration in Children and Youth.

I am passionate about working with children, youth, young adults, parents, and those wanting to connect with their younger selves. I have over a decade of experience working with children and youth and seven years in the mental health field. My clinical experience includes working with trauma as well as substance use and addiction. I work full time at a inpatient treatment center for youth struggling with substance use.

My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed and strengths-based, centering around creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore, express and heal. I draw extensively from Attachment and Adlerian Theories, which emphasize the relationships in our lives, including those of the past and within the larger systems of society. I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which is an evidence based treatment for single incident and complex trauma, suitable for all ages, especially children and youth. I also integrate modalities from Somatic, Art, and Cognitive Therapies.

Further, I identify as a young-ish, cisgender, heterosexual, straight-sized, able-bodied, female. I am of European descent, and grew up middle class in a semi-rural area of BC. I believe it is crucial to name my intersectionalities as these undoubtedly have played a role in my lived experience and will play a role in the therapeutic relationship and addressing concerns of diversity, inclusion, and privilege. I believe examining how intersecting identities play a role in our lives and our lived experiences in society is essential. As such, I proudly stand as an advocate and ally for the BIPOC, 2SLGBQ2+, and Neurodivergent communities.

waitlist currently full – I believe that change happens through relationships. As a counsellor, I work to build a safe and trusting relationship through empathy and non-judgment. This creates the foundation you need to heal, grow, and build stronger connections to yourself and others. If you’re struggling to manage your emotions, coping with grief, feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or just stuck, I’m here to guide you on your path forward. I work collaboratively with my clients to identify unhelpful patterns and build self-awareness, confidence, and skills needed to navigate life’s challenges. My primary approach is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy which fosters self-acceptance and clarity. A quote I love is “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change” by Carl Rogers. I integrate aspects of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Solution Focus Brief Therapy to meet the unique needs of each client. I come from a family of mental health advocates and knew from a young age that I would follow in their footsteps. With over a decade of experience in mental health, I’ve worked with diverse populations, including adults with acquired brain injuries and individuals facing homelessness. I believe strongly that society and systemic issues cannot be separated from our mental health challenges. Recognizing that healing is holistic, I can work with you to identify and access community resources. Together we will build your resilience and connect you to your community. In my personal life I find balance and inspiration in nature by spending time outdoors - whether I’m skiing, hiking, camping, or canoeing.I bring this same sense of calm and renewal into my work, helping you reconnect with your own sense of strength and well-being.
