My goal is to support you through life challenges towards your path to healing and growth. I strive to create a non-judgmental space where we can explore these hardships together, while fostering a warm and genuine connection. I am passionate about helping you find your strength and resilience.
My interested in mental health first peaked when I was working in a pharmacy at the age of 15, where I was able to witness the effects of mental illness. It fostered my passion for helping individuals, specifically with addiction. I then decided to pursue an undergraduate degree in Psychology, following my Masters in Counselling Psychology.
I have experience working in shelters that support women who are experiencing mental health concerns, homelessness, and those who are navigating the criminal justice system. That role has further taught me the value of having a non-judgmental, safe, and supportive space. My passion lies through a trauma-informed approach, while blending elements of cognitive behavioural therapy, emotion focused, IFS, mindfulness, and solution focused therapy. We will work collaboratively to find an approach that best suits your needs.
Areas of focus: • Depression • Anxiety • PTSD • Substance use • Self-esteem • Grief and loss • Suicidal ideation • Emotion regulation
Modalities: • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy • Emotion focused • Internal Family Systems • Solution focused • Mindfulness

I bring a warm, holistic, client-centered approach to counselling and I am passionate about providing a safe, inclusive, non-judgemental space for you to unpack everything heavy you’ve been carrying!
I have a background in psychology, biology, social work and clinical counselling, as well as outdoor adventure & nature-based therapy.
I have worked with many individuals, families, and groups over the last 6 years to address challenges around emotions, mood, behaviour, relationships, communication and boundaries.
Often individuals or families need more support during times of big transitions in life including: moving, new job, new family member, marriage, divorce, retirement, graduation, trauma, or loss.
It’s important to build trust and safety in a counselling relationship so I would like to know what brings you or your family into counseling, and what you’re hoping to achieve so we can build an individualized plan together!
Have you noticed changes in your self-image, mood, health, habits, and relationships?
Do you feel stressed out, burntout, exhausted, irritable, or numb?
Do you struggle with feeling emotionally overwhelmed or out of control?
Do you feel isolated, or at a distance from loved ones and old hobbies?
Do you feel like you’re struggling to get what you want/need? Don’t feel heard or supported?
Do you feel lost, or stuck in the same patterns, despite having good self awareness?
Are you wondering why it’s so hard to make the changes you want?
Are you worried about your child or teenager? Have you noticed changes in their behavior or relationships? Are you or your family experiencing big changes, stressors, or transitions in life?
I believe in empowering people and finding strengths, whilst finding ways to promote desired growth and change. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, emotion-focused family therapy, polyvagal theory, narrative theory, motivational interviewing, attachment theory, play therapy, and family systems theory.
Do you have questions? Book a complimentary 10-minute online consultation!
We can talk virtually, so you’ll have a chance to ask any questions you might have, and to get a sense if I’m the right counselor and right fit for you or your family!
I am also available on evenings and some weekends! If you prefer a phone consultation or have a general question, please email me at Natasha@momentouscounselling.ca

My sessions are a collaborative exploration that toggles between our many relationships; to self, to others, and to our world. I believe we heal through relationships as social animals, and that ALL our behaviors are adaptive and intelligent strategies that keep us safe, even if we may hold judgements towards them. I believe that in acknowledging and befriending our many parts, we can find empowerment through self-leadership. I invite your irreverent humor, sarcasm, and saltiness to session. Authenticity is one of my tightest-held values, and you will receive the same from me, along with compassion and curiosity. Above all I value autonomy, and I trust you to know what is best for you. My goal as a counselor is to companion you through dark woods as a lantern, but ultimately you hold the map and have all the internal wisdom you need to decipher it.
I am a newcomer to Canada, and my body is white, cis, smallfat, and (temporarily) able. I hold my own history of trauma and grief, and am currently exploring my neurodiversity & sexuality. Because of the power I hold, not only as a therapist, but also because of many of my dominant identities, I will always work towards undermining hierarchy and interrupting internalized messages. I believe in working towards a world where all bodies are free from oppression, and I believe that this is a task of maintenance, not competency - something we must continue to return to, again and again. I am rooted in the framework of body liberation which celebrates body diversity, self-trust, rest, and pleasure, while acknowledging the primary role of white supremacy, ableism, and capitalism in perpetuating the definition and ongoing oppression of othered bodies. I am an existential agnostic. I believe that making our own meaning and defining life on our own terms is an important part of retaining power in a world that often feels chaotic, absurd, and violent. I support clients in creating or connecting to meaning, ritual, and myth in a modern world, as well as the expansive and transformative power of personal and collective grief.
As a human outside the therapy room I am a lover of poetry, the forest floor, defiant hope, tarot cards, playing Skyrim every winter, tasting all of life’s novelty, and my dog Oberon.

Navigating the complexities of life can often make the world seem unforgiving and overwhelming. In the face of unexpected challenges, it’s natural to question our purpose and wonder where we’ll find the strength to move forward. My intention is to hold space and embrace the feelings of uncertainty together. Collaboratively, we can unravel the past, navigate the nuances of the present, and chart a course toward a purposeful future.
My journey into counselling was sparked by witnessing friends, as early as age 12, grapple with mental health challenges during formative years. Curious about the profound connection between the mind and our well-being, I pursued an undergraduate degree in Behavioural Neuroscience. Through my own struggles, I further discovered the transformative power of counselling — the ability to uplift through active listening and unwavering support. Building on this foundation, I earned my Masters in Counselling Psychology with a concentration in Children and Youth.
I am passionate about working with children, youth, young adults, parents, and those wanting to connect with their younger selves. I have over a decade of experience working with children and youth and seven years in the mental health field. My clinical experience includes working with trauma as well as substance use and addiction. My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed and strengths-based, centering around creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore, express and heal. I draw extensively from Attachment and Adlerian Theories, which emphasize the relationships in our lives, including those of the past and within the larger systems of society. I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which is an evidence based treatment for single incident and complex trauma, suitable for all ages, especially children and youth. I also integrate modalities from Somatic, Art, and Cognitive Therapies.
Further, I identify as a young-ish, cisgender, heterosexual, straight-sized, able-bodied, female. I am of European descent, and grew up middle class in a semi-rural area of BC. I believe it is crucial to name my intersectionalities as these undoubtedly have played a role in my lived experience and will play a role in the therapeutic relationship and addressing concerns of diversity, inclusion, and privilege. I believe examining how intersecting identities play a role in our lives and our lived experiences in society is essential. As such, I proudly stand as an advocate and ally for the BIPOC, 2SLGBQ2+, and Neurodivergent communities.
